Day 6 in #10-days-in-public Today, I do some minor changes on Homepage to make hidden notes without make layout changes. and I added my Spotify and Apple Music Playlist collection that I made on my site, And if I have time. Small ship (bigger one coming soon hehe)! At #horizon I built an unnecessarily ~~complicated~~ hacky project involving Spotify + Neopixels. Basically, the web interface at horizonmusic.vercel.app allows everyone to add music to a Spotify playlist that I play (which means I have ultimate control I guess + yes you can technically still add music) without having to log in (especially if they don't have an account) + automatically filters out explicit songs in the search so nobody adds explicit songs. Waveform with p5.js and Tone.js record surround sound (coming from speakers and other close noise) and transform it into a cool waveform, while a set of LED lights (Neopixels) flash along to the music, utilizing an Adafruit Feather Huzzah to wirelessly communicate with a computer (computer mic -> computer -> computer processing -> send FPS to Adafruit -> flash Neopixels!) through the amazing audio-reactive-led-strip library. The Neopixels we got didn't work fully, but the result was still cool! github.com/jianmin-chen/spotify-collab (and I might be getting working Neopixels for another project!)

howdy friends! i stayed up for a couple hours last night working on my personal website (it was very spur of the moment). i’ve been designing the site for over a year now and going through different designs i settled on one simpler so i didn’t have to update it. i present version 4 of my personal site srtk.me (old metadata still but idrc). very cool thing happens at the bottom, the music thing detects what device i’m listening on (and also changes the icon). wasn’t that hard, it just required a new refresh token w a new scope from Spotify. <3

Day 10 of Winter Hardware Wonderland I started on Day 0 and now a final day! I completed my project. Moreover, I learned how to solder and a lot of other Python packages. I also setup my very first Raspberry Pi. It was a lot learning. I didn't have any update today but I would like to recap. My project is a pixel art frame with LEDs that can display image into led. It can also Display slope intercept form Show current playing Spotify Song cover Display the pixel art that is drawn on Pixel Art Editor. I have plans to add more functions too. However it was a lot fun!

Shipped out a "currently listening to" widget to my portfolio! Had lots of fun connecting my Spotify account to Next.js and working with access tokens. I also connected Gitub to list out some of my projects on the site via Octokit.

i was going to wait to test it with multiple users before shipping but THIS IS HACK CLUB, that is not necessary!!! i love #slotify but as an apple music user i hate feeling left out of all the cool tools people make that are spotify-only. so i decided to bravely battle the apple music api and build slotify for apple music! i shared a proof-of-concept in #scrapbook a few days ago that was hardcoded with my credentials, but now you can use it too if you are an apple music user :applemusic: just head over to apple-music-slack-status-1.techbug2012.repl.co and sign in with slack & apple music. use /music-status to toggle it on/off (it should be on by default after you authenticate though). if you run into any issues at any point, please let me know 🙏

As an Apple Music user, I always feel left out of the end of year music wrapped hype because Spotify Wrapped blows Apple Music Replay out of the water. The worst part about Apple Music Replay is that it's impossible to share your top 10 albums in one screenshot—so I stitched a few screenshots together in Preview on my Mac and made my own screenshot! I made two versions: a square one and a portrait one, with slightly different layouts. I eyeballed everything so it's not perfect, but I'm very excited that I can finally share my top 10 albums of the year!!! 🎵

i have made a couple of things for z internet over the past three days! may i present them to you? first up us Leap Manual - it's an apple inspired manual for the Orpheus leap! hack.af/leap-manual (github.com/sampoder/leap-manual) it's based off @matthew workshop slide deck thingy... i must say mdx deck is wacky next upp is something to help out my student council, we're hosting a physical scavenger hunt but we cant have people huddling around the clues, so they'll scan a qr code to get their clues. i built a website to show those clues, sample: scavenge.now.sh/recRRgVvKJaCLUfNi and gems kids this is fake so no hints. but my fav project of them all is the one i made today! with serverless functions and vercel i made this little thingy that allows you to add songs to a spotify playlist because my school is creating a student playlist to play in the mornings and as the student council ~~president~~ software developer i stepped up and made smth but im actually really proud of it yeet add-music.now.sh /// github.com/sampoder/playlist-wizard i also learnt how weird spotifyss api is its weird im not a fan school holidays are fun times
